Era 6: Bronze Age

  • New ways of metalworking were discovered, including work with bronze which is a copper and tin alloy.

  • New inventions included the ox plow and the wheel and axle. 

  • The oldest existing collection of laws written by Babylonian leader Hamurabi came from this time period. 

  • Cornwall, England was the place a lot of tin came from, allowing tools to be made.

  • The Bronze Age came to an end when iron got more popular because technology had advanced enough to heat and forge it more easily. The Bronze Age lasted from approximately 3,000 BCE to c. 1,000.

  • Egypt was among the most sophisticated civilizations during that time.
